What is Praxis Teachers Academy?

Praxis-Group, LLC has partnered with Fitchburg State University to offer 3-credit, graduate level courses to educators that will satisfy their professional improvement needs.

Praxis Teachers Academy offers a unique opportunity to register for our very first course, designed by teachers for teachers. It is our mission to provide courses that not only tick the boxes of the department of education's requirements for teacher licensure, but that also ensure the teachers taking our courses learn useful and usable strategies that they will really use with their students.

Our instructors are dedicated to offering the most meaningful and pragmatic methods of instruction based on the most current educational research.

Who Are We

ELA Course: Developing Voice in Our Students' Writing

May 17th - July 26th, 2022

Our expert instructor seeks to help students examine not only the theory and research, but also the practical classroom applications of one of the most contested terms used in ELA education today: voice.

This course will be:

- 10 Weeks

- Fully Remote

- Synchronous Instruction

- Tuesdays, 4:00-7:45pm

This course is specifically being designed to satisfy the department of education requirements for professional licensure and lane changes.

ELA Course: Teaching Composition Writing (Secondary Level)

May 19th - July 28th, 2022

Our expert instructor seeks to help students develop tools to enhance their composition lessons for middle and high school students paying particular attention to developing lessons on thesis statements and topic sentences, using a writing process and exploring a variety of rhetorical modes.
